Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American performer, singer and actress. She was raised by her mother, within the USA. She was subjected to racial taunts and being made to feel unwelcome. After she participated in an event at school and was given great praise for her performance at the age of 9 she began to grow more confident. It not only increased her confidence, but also her goals were changed. When she was 22, she graduated the Julliard School of New York. She started her professional journey when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and The You've Got Mail film. The role in The lad from The Lake is her greatest breakthrough, bringing herself the Tony Award in addition to the acclaim of critics for her performance. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater recognition. A singer by profession and producer, she's produced a single as well as an extended piece. She's also an activist who fights to protect LGBT rights.
